Overview
BloxRTX is a free Windows app that gives your Roblox worlds a cinematic look. It is built on ReShade and tailored for NVIDIA Ansel, combining bloom, color grading, atmosphere, and subtle depth of field into three hand-tuned moods.
The effects render on your own screen only — they do not change the game for other players, and there is nothing to paste or edit by hand. This documentation covers version 1.0.
Requirements
| Requirement | What you need |
|---|---|
| System | A Windows PC with Roblox installed |
| Setup | A few minutes — Roblox must be closed while the setup runs |
| Account | None. No sign-up, no subscription |
| Graphics | Performance depends on your device and scene; no measured minimum GPU is claimed |
BloxRTX does not require an NVIDIA RTX card. “BloxRTX” is the product name; the app does not add hardware ray tracing.
Installation
- Download BloxRTX.exe.
- Close Roblox if it is running — the setup will otherwise close it before it begins.
- Run
BloxRTX.exeand press Install. The setup configures ReShade/BloxRTX for you automatically. - When you see “Setup has finished installing BloxRTX”, press Finish.
- Launch Roblox. The effects are applied the next time the game starts.
First use
After the setup finishes, start Roblox and join any world. The difference is easiest to see in bright, outdoor scenes — look at highlights, the horizon, and distant terrain.
Give it a minute on your usual worlds and check that performance feels right on your device before settling on a mood.
Mood library
| Mood | Feel |
|---|---|
| Golden Hour | Warm evening light with soft, glowing highlights |
| Blue Hour | Cool twilight tones — a quieter kind of cinematic |
| Daydream | Soft, pink-tinted pastel treatment |
Existing lighting and geometry affect the final result. Website showcase images are third-party inspiration images, not output generated by the app.
What each mood tunes
| Effect | What it does |
|---|---|
| Bloom | Turns bright highlights into a soft, controlled glow |
| Color grading | Coordinates tint, contrast, and saturation for a cohesive palette |
| Atmosphere | Adds layered haze so distant landscapes feel larger |
| Depth of field | A light far blur that draws the eye to what matters |
Each mood balances these together — you do not need to configure anything by hand.
Choosing a mood
Version 1.0 ships with three built-in moods: Golden Hour, Blue Hour, and Daydream. Pick the one that fits your world — warm and inviting, cool and calm, or soft and dreamlike.
If a scene feels too heavy or too stylized, try a different mood; each one is tuned for a different kind of world.
Troubleshooting
Nothing looks different in game
Make sure the setup reached “Setup has finished installing BloxRTX” and that you restarted Roblox afterwards — the effects apply the next time the game starts.
The setup will not continue
Roblox must be closed while the setup runs. Close the game fully and run BloxRTX.exe again.
Windows warned me about the file
SmartScreen flags newly downloaded apps by default. If you got the file from this site, choose “More info → Run anyway”.
Performance drops
Cinematic effects have a rendering cost that depends on your device and the scene. Lower Roblox’s graphics quality a notch or switch to a lighter mood.
The download does not start
Try again from the download page; the file is served from an external host, so a browser or network blocker can interrupt it.
Update or remove
Run the setup again to update BloxRTX or remove it. Once removed, Roblox returns to its normal look the next time it starts — nothing else on your system is changed.
Frequently asked questions
Is BloxRTX free?
Yes — completely free, with no account and no subscription.
Does it change the game for other players?
No. The effects render on your screen only; everyone else sees the game unchanged.
Do I need Roblox Studio or any scripting?
No. BloxRTX is a Windows app built on ReShade — there is no Lua to paste and nothing to edit by hand.
Does it need a powerful GPU?
No specific card is required. Heavier scenes cost more to render, so results vary by device.
